About the Book

The Misadventures of the Dark Roast Ghost brings the realm of the ridiculous into the realm of reality in a world of living coffee beans. Harvey Schmultz, a nerdy coffee bean, experiences a series of mishaps. He is then rescued by the Supreme Lord Coffee Bean and is given the gift of transformation, a costume, and a few superficial powers. By nature, the Dark Roast Ghost isn’t a violent bean; he uses his brain over brawn to rid beankind of wrongdoers. Unlike other superheroes, he bumbles through and solves sinister situations by creating predicaments of choice for doers of dastardly deeds; and as a result, the evildoers are done in by their own hand.

About the Author

My name is Bob Lasley; I reside in Aptos, California. I am a professional musician with a B.A. degree in art from San José State University. I have owned and managed bars and nightclubs in New York, New Orleans, and several Californian cities. I am a widower and have one son who is an administration of justice professor at Cal State Fullerton. Drinking establishments are now problematic, and the trend for camaraderie in coffee emporiums has become the rage. Watching my friends ruin their lives and even dying from alcohol and drug abuse compelled me to create this book.
