About the Book

This book is a compilation of letters between Louise Gordon and her husband Jay about their life together, about their respective illnesses, their methods of overcoming difficult health situations while loving and supporting each other in the ways only a couple dedicated to each other can achieve. It addresses Louise’s strength and resolve with regard to her accomplishments in her long battle with health issues. It is also a collection of letters to Jay from family and friends on the occasion of Louise’s death from cancer in August 2004. Each word speaks to the gentle and loving nature of a woman who lived her life to the fullest. It is hoped that the words contained within will be helpful to other cancer patients and survivors as well as to any individual who has encountered a difficult period in his or her life, regardless of the cause.

About the Author

This is my first attempt of a literary nature. I feel compelled to write of a brave and good woman, her fight with cancer, and our love story. At the age of 12, one day I went to the local swimming pool. The following day the doctor made a house call. Several days later I was diagnosed with “Polio,” the scourge of that era. Through hot-pack applications and therapy I survived and went on to junior college, married, divorced and then met Louise Gordon. I married the “love of my life.” Jay Gordon
