About the Book

Everyone seems to have a hard time fitting in – in school, at work, even sometimes in our own families. We all feel “different,” because we are all unique. People come in all sizes and shapes and colors. Some have special challenges. Some people are smart, and some are not. But every person has a unique gift to offer. Henrietta is a small (“puny”) hen whom nobody seems to want. Farmer Jones takes her home, but the other hens just make fun of her and don’t want to have her around. But Henrietta proves that it doesn’t matter that she is different. She is very smart and very kind, and she begins to effect the farm animals around her. This is a story to help children accept themselves as they are and to strive for their own potential.
