About the Author

Raymond Triplett was born 25 December 1945 in Oklahoma City. His father gained his custody when he was about 7. As a young boy boy, they moves around a lot. In 1957, approximately, the last 6-weeks of school , they moved to Mineral Well, Texas. He was in the 5th grade during this period. Raymond graduated from high school in Mineral Wells in 1964. Upon graduation, he got a job and became the first catering waiter in Mineral Wells. On 26 August 1965, he joined the Navy. During the four-year tour, he served in Viet Nam aboard the U.S.S Ticonderoga. He received his discharge from the Navy on 1 August 1969. He went to work for the downtown IHOP in San Diego. On 1 July 1971, he met his wife. The franchise IHOP he worked for sold out in late 1983 and, not being able to find work in San Diego, he and his wife moved back to Mineral Wells. To start, he got a job as a truck washer; went through several different jobs, before settling down in production work for Butler’s Ventamatic, which he started working steadily in 1994. He has been writing poetry since he was 16. The dates on some of his poems represent the date or its approximate that he actually wrote them. His dream is to be a popular writer.
