One Big Piece of Hurt is based on the many scrapes, bumps, and bruises a young child usually experiences. In this story the Grandma is supportive of the child in that every little mishap needs immediate attention - from Grandma! It is a family story that invites creativity, simplicity, and learning in a safe and loving environment.
About the Author
Doris Cook is a wife, mother, grandmother, and retired elementary school teacher. She is a graduate of Georgia Southern College. Her hobbies include writing, reading, traveling, and shopping. She is an active member of Metter United Methodist Church. She and her husband of 51 years live on their South Georgia farm near Metter. There, they raised two sons and a daughter. Now, the Cook's grandchildren enjoy coming to the wide open spaces of the farmland. Her oldest grandchild, Karson Coker, illustrated this story and created his cousin Makayla as the whimsical triangular figure known as Mak. Makayla, in turn, adores her little character figure!
