About the Book

About the Author

My name is James Hurtt. I am the author of the book Enlightening the Enlightened. I hold no titles or degrees of this world. I am a Christian, a partaker of the inheritance of the Saints in light, a child of the King. The Father of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, He is the one who knows all things, and in Him do I live and move; and He has moved me to an awareness that has placed on my heart, the book Enlightening the Enlightened. The objective is for the development of our spiritual growth, to create an awareness in the minds of African American Christians of how important it is for us to address our common problem using the gospel of Jesus Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit. What is our common problem? It is the unconfessed sins of slavery and rape, which created a spirit of racism, hatred and a false sense of superiority in white America. That same demonic spirit produced in black America feelings of worthlessness, despair and self-hate. Generation after generation of the African American’s wrong reaction to the demonic forces of oppression begot new problems which took on its own identity and looked different from the root cause. Those who are responsible for the demonic forces of oppression hid behind and blamed our reaction. They looked at our neighborhoods from an objective standpoint with racist overtones and could care less why these conditions exist. It would appear that their judgment can be justified based on what they see. Trash in the streets, graffiti, run down, unpainted house, weeds, boarded up homes, abandoned cars, drugs, crime, noise and crack infested prostitutes. Why do we live this way? Are we inferior people, born criminals, or just plain lazy? No! Our neighborhoods are the product of our wrong reaction to oppression
