About the Book
We live in a high tech world. With digital televisions, computers, cell phones, IPODS, and video games out there, one can become overwhelmed. There’s technology out there to do almost everything for us. When was the last time you sat down with pen and paper and did a simple math problem? You know, add, subtract, multiply, or divide. Calculators and computers can do this for us. Most of us have to do business with banks. Many of you have felt that you’ve been cheated or just plain taken advantage of by banks. There are high interest rates, overdraft fees, other fees and other hidden cost. You might be surprised to find out that banks will take money from your account without any accountability. You had better brush up on your math skills. I served in the United States Air Force and lived in several states and in Great Britain. Over the past 38 years, I’ve had bank accounts in the United States and abroad. My story is about my encounters with only four of these banks. One good and three that was not so pleasant. Money was taken from my accounts without accountability. I’ll show you how I was able to keep track of their actions and finally what I did about it.
About the Author
I’m the everyday guy who grew up next door to you. I was born in Alabama during the civil right era. I didn’t see much violence in my early childhood. Sure there were the bombings in Birmingham and the Jim Crow era, but I mostly saw that on television. My closest neighbors were a white family with one child and we played together. His father owned the local Sears store in town. We lived near several lakes and his father or my father would take us to them to fish often. We’d eat together and play together. We didn’t know predjuiste when we were young. We just enjoyed eating and playing together. I went to public schools. My white friend went to a private school. That didn’t stop us from playing together everyday. I graduated from Pickens County High School in Reform Alabama and accepted a scholarship to Jackson State University in Jackson Mississippi. I was a member of the Sonic Boom of the South Marching Band. I took a break from college and joined the Air Force. While serving in the Air Force, I played American Football in England during the early 1980’s before football became popular in Europe. After leaving the Air Force in 1984, I attend college at Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville Illinois. I later reenlisted in the United States Air Force in 1987 and became a Recruiter. I left the Air Force and entered the private sector more than nine-teen years ago. I’m grateful that I was able to serve my country.
