About the Author

Melissa (Lysa) Gillespie is a native born and raised Washingtonian. A mother of two kids, Stephen and Miracle, she is also raising her nephew Brandon. Lysa attended Prince Georges County Schools, graduated from Strayer University with an AA Degree, and has been a Hairstylist for the past 25 years, and now a Tax Auditor for an Accounting Firm, in Maryland. She is an active member of New Home Baptist Church, in Landover Maryland, where she does her poetry for the Church and is a part of Poetic Voices, a poetry ministry at the Church, where her 1st Poetry CD was made. Lysa also goes around town, and embraces the mic with her spoken words, under her Poetic name, “Stylysa”
