About the Book
This collection of works was assembled by her family to honor her memory and her talent as an artist. Inside are some of her best works in a number of mediums, the most prevalent of which is her personal favorite, watercolors.
About the Author
The daughter of Charles and Jennie Hatch, Doris Rand grew up in Winthrop, Massachusetts. She received her education at Lasell College and Boston University Art School. Upon graduation she began her professional career as an artist at the Vincent Edwards Advertising Agency in Boston. After her sons had grown up and left the family home, Doris pursued art with a passion at her new residence in Marblehead, Massachusetts. Doris belonged to The Copley Society of Boston, The North Shore Art Association, The Catherine Lorillard Wolfe Art Association, and of course, The Marblehead Art Association. She was also an associate member of the American Watercolor Society. She exhibited widely in such venues as The Wolfe and Salamagundi art clubs in New York City, the North Shore, Marblehead, Reading and Swampscott Art Associations, numerous banks, business buildings, hospitals and libraries. She entered competitions and won countless awards. She sold many of her paintings to private buyers and they are displayed in homes around the United States.
