About the Author

Aubrey "Snuffy" Garrett is a former policeman and elected official of the City of Bessemer Alabama which he writes about in this book. Bessemer may be the only city in America to have suffered its city hall being blown up by a bomb and killing a ranking officer of the police department in the explosion. Garrett was a member of the Bessemer Police Department for about a decade before running for the office of Public Safety Commissioner, a position which he held until defeated by Max Williams who was a victim of the bomb blast also. This circumstance contributed to Garrett's being placed on the list of suspects who may have caused the bombing.
