About the Author
I participated in a workshop where we were lead in meditation and asked to receive a gift. I distinctly recall being handed a gold pen. The action was in a loving lighthearted manner. The spiritual leader suggested that this gift was an indication to be used for writing. I didn’t see the value of this until years later I began writing short stories about my dogs, then poetry and later composing music. I still wonder about this gift from the spiritual realm as I don’t consider myself to be a writer. Getting an idea and then transforming it into words on paper happens only occasionally. I always enjoy the results however and receive a good deal of energy from the process. My first poems were about my dogs and what I observed with them. When their lives ended I wanted to give each one a tribute to the memories I had of them. The poetry was also a healing for me in their loss. I found other subjects to write about and still look for inspiration to create poems or stories. I was born in 1940 and from the age of six grew up on a farm in a small town in southern Quebec-Canada. I still live on the family property with my husband Henri and our three cats. Two Newfoundlands is a storybook, and “Come to the River” a book of music from several poems are other literary accomplishments. “My Favorite Things” is my first publication
