About the Book

Shish, the brave little starfish lives at Cashes Ledge, a magnificent underwater mountain range in the Gulf of Maine. On the night of a blue moon, the Great Storm arrives and drives Shish into the angry sea. Ozzy, a friendly humpback whale delivers her to safety in an old sunken ship where Shish lives her days alone and injured from a terrible accident. Shish is a long way from home. Shish finally returns to Cashes Ledge where she and her friends must confront the Carboxy Brothers, an evil duo that threaten Shish’s world. If the Carboxy Brother’s cannot be stop, the Earth’s oceans are doomed. Only the humans have the power to stop them. Shish and her companions want to help.

About the Author

I think I have been a writer since the first time I put a pen to paper. At least, I have always had something to say. I do not consider myself an artist but needed to create a place that would invite the eyes of children – to help them to explore, unthreatened, the challenges we humans face in keeping our oceans healthy. Each character in Shish, The Brave Little Starfish has a message to convey- a message about the devastating impact of global climate change on the ocean. But not only that – a message about what we, as individuals and as a global society must do to indeed, Save the Ocean.
