The Magic Balloon is about Arabella, a small girl adapting to loneliness and the prospect of going to boarding school. Her adventure with her new friends assists her to overcome her fears. A story set in rural Australia about a young girl who faces challenges in a move from the city to the country and loneliness. Her adventure of making some new friends and her apprehension of a new school are difficulties faced by children every day. I do hope this story will delight the young reader.

About the Author

Vivien Kells, born 1950 in Coffs Harbour, NSW, is the great niece and long-time admirer of this exquisite Australian artist, Margaret Clark. Vivien has compiled each chapter of her story to accompany and showcase the little-known illustrations, some of which she fondly remembers from her own childhood, for new generations. A chance finding of a work for sale on the internet sparked a passion to bring Aunty Margaret's beautiful work to the world. Vivien has lived in New South Wales, Queensland and the Northern Territory. The proud mother of two and grandmother of five children (last count) has worked as a competent bookkeeper before retiring and now dabbles in watercolours and travel photography. “The Magic Balloon” for a young friend and her granddaughters.
