I was working the second half of a double back shift and had only gotten about 2 ½ hours of sleep between shifts. I was assigned to the western interstate zone. The western interstate patrol involved driving west for about 80 miles then turning around and driving east for about 80 miles. It is a very boring zone to have. While on patrol you look for any disabled motorists who need assistance and write traffic tickets. It was early on a Sunday morning and there wasn’t any traffic so I was just driving east and west drinking coffee trying to stay awake. I was in the middle of nowhere when the 7th, or maybe it was the 8th, cup of coffee decided it needed to come out right now. I was next to the state game lands and in the middle of nowhere so I pulled off the road and walked a few yards into the woods. As I was reliving myself I looked down to see the skeletal remains of a human hand and arm. My first thought was damn I just contaminated a crime scene. My second thought was I better cover this up before someone else finds it and I have to admit I contaminated a crime scene.

About the Book
In this book, I tell some of my favorite stories from my time working as a Pennsylvania State trooper. I will tell you of my first day on patrol and take you on a journey with me through some of the most memorable incidents I investigated. Along the way, you will learn how I earned my nickname the Black Cloud.
About the Author
Andrew Snyder was a Pennsylvania State Trooper from 1996 through 2006. During that time, he was a patrol trooper, firearms instructor, and an alternate in the forensics services division. He held the title of pistol master, having qualified with a perfect 300 out of 300 with the department handgun. At the 2000 Republican National Convention, he was assigned to guard the hotel the governor of Kansas was staying at. Andrew has served in the Army National Guard as an M60 machine gunner. He has trained in jiujitsu for more than thirty years and holds the rank of black belt. He has also trained in Laido and Seiken Ryu Karate. He is currently living in South Texas. He works as a professional photographer and also as a part-time gunsmith.
