About the Book

The events over twenty-four hours following the death of a patriach, as seen through the eyes of his elderly wife, his adult daughter, and his young great grandson. As the day and evening pass, with each person reacting in their own way to the rituals, events, and family interactions of what transpires, the period culminates in an understanding of a single passing comment and what it really means when two people, who have been married for sixty-four years, are so in love.

About the Author

Mahalath Halperin, whilst an architect by training, has also written and produced a variety of books, from photo essays on sustainability to travels with cats and several children’s books. This story comes from the heart and from her own experiences, following the passing of both her parents in a short space of time. Mahalath lives and works in regional New South Wales, Australia, with her husband, extensive garden, and their crazy cat on which several of her books are based.
