About the Book

This book is a collection of short stories about ordinary people who are walking out their faith. There is the Treasure, the story of what happens when a woman finds lost items she thought were refuse and cleans them up only to find out they are something special. A Man Apart, the story of a pastor haunted by the good deeds of an unlikely angel he can’t seem to help, until he humbles himself. A Brief Encounter, the story of a woman who doesn’t heed the call of a friend and regrets it. The Healing, a story told in three parts about a woman who visits a traveling faith healer and gets much more than she expected. It also focuses on the people she touches in the process. The Throwaway, the story of a boy who is in need of a friend and finds it in and unlikely place that puts an imprint on his life that lasts a lifetime. The Conversion, the story of a harried advertising executive—who is running from the rat race and his own shortcomings and who encounters a man that changes his thinking and way of life.

About the Author

I was born in Denver, Colorado, and raised in Kansas and Arizona. I dropped out of high school before attending community college and business college and receiving a background in accounting. I was a Buddhist for fifteen years before converting to Christianity in 2001. I was a church secretary for the Temple of Praise Church of God in Christ for seven years. I briefly studied art and graphic design. I received my associate degree in general studies from the Community College of Denver in 2012. I currently serve as the secretary to the Pastor of the New Temple of Praise Church of God in Christ.
