About the Author

Kim Buss is originally from Cape Cod, Massachusetts, and moved to Eau Claire, Wisconsin, in 1990. Kim has one son, Jim Lagergren, who now lives on the Cape and is expecting his first son in March. Kim Buss also claims her husband’s daughters as her own, Rae Anne Frey and Jessica Buss. Kim Buss has four grandchildren and one on the way: Halle and Ava Rudawski from Red Wing, Minnesota; Alex and Emma Frey from Milwaukee; and Logan Anthony Lagergren is yet to come. When asked about how Kim came up with the Carter story line, she replied, “That part was easy. Alex (three years old then) always loved my stories, and this came to me in a Christmas card, and then Alex named all the characters for me.” Kim Buss lives with her wonderful husband in Lake Halle, along with their dog, Toby. Kim Buss says she loves her crazy, mixed-up version of the modern family life.
