Crash and Burn

Good and Evil Faster! Running from something I don't know. Praying it doesn't sneak up and get me. My heart beats loudly; the green brush blocks my view. Shadows of soulless creatures lurk from the unknown. Grabbing for my heart, they try and take my life. I fall to the ground in defeat. My tears hit the moist ground like unwanted worries. My soul continues to fight with a powerful force. Keep back the faceless creatures who want my tomorrow. Hope. Let my hope be an ally. The trees surround me in a line of defense for the evil. The same evil that wants my existence. The rain falls like a shield in my favor, helping to douse the rage of no emotions. Faceless creatures with no future want my life. I'm tied with anger and fright. These chains are too thick to break! I call deep, to the bottom of my soul for my last line of defense. Let my love for life be enough to keep these emotionless creatures from taking my tomorrow. Help me to make these shadowed figures feel pain. The same pain I feel, deep and tormenting and threatening. Believing this is enough I cry out in what I think is victory, just as the last shadow slips inside me and takes me over. It consumes my soul and breaks my heart. I am no more. My last thought is clouded by the darkness that has consumed me, that good doesn't always triumph over evil.
