Karma and Fear

`She still isn't back?' Valent asked when he found Val sitting next to Vandana's bedroom door, Val shook his head before Valent sat down next to him. `He really was cruel to her today.' Val said sadly. `I think Edric was just annoyed that she invited another person into the house.' Valent said and looked over at Val. `I am sure that she is going to fine, how about we go wait by the front door or even in the living room like everyone else will be.' He said before standing up and Val followed him away to the living room. Ender stood next to the doorway that lead to the front door, Scarlet stood on the other side and poked her head in it. `What's going…?' Valent asked, Scarlet quickly covered her hand over his mouth and placed a finger on her lips. Once he was released both he and Val looked into the door way to find Edric pacing next to the front door. `Where is the kid?' Valent whispered to Scarlet. `They went back to the library, said they will be back for dinner. I think they were scared off after all that.' Scarlet answered. `How long are we going to be standing here?' Ender asked already looking tired. `For however long it takes in till Van comes home.' `And if she doesn't?' Scarlet sent him a glare. `I was just asking.' Ender said quickly. Scarlet was about to say something before the front door was opened and they fell silent, Edric froze from where he was. Vandana walked in looked at him before walking past him with her hands in her pockets. `I am sorry.' Edric said and Vandana stopped walking, but she didn't turn around. `I know that you have been taking measures to keep yourself under control, and so I am saying sorry. For calling you a monster.' `I did call you a machine.' Vandana stated before turning around to face him. `That doesn't bother me, but it does bother you.' Edric took a step towards her before looking down to where her hands where hidden. `We should really go bandage those up, I am going to guess that they are bruised blue by now.' Vandana looked down to the ground before nodding, Edric gave a small nod before leading her to the closest bathroom. Those hiding in the doorway didn't follow. `I saw your eye change, good job on keeping yourself under control.' Edric said as he kneeled down next to where Vandana sat on the closed toilet, he opened the first aid kit that he had pulled out from the cabinet and waited for when Vandana pulled out her hands. `Brick?' He asked once he got a look at her hands, there where small cuts on her knuckles. `Stone, same thing really.' He nodded before pulling out cloth and rubbing alcohol, she didn't like the way she sat and then slide down to the floor next to him. He then took one of her hands before starting to clean her knuckles, she hiss in pain when the alcohol touched the small grazes. `You don't think that I would turn. Do you?' Vandana then asked after a while. `If things got bad, then yes you would. Anger isn't the only think that can make you change, at least from what I have learnt.' `Any bad emotion can if it's strong enough, anger is mine. Most people have sadness as theirs.' Vandana stated as Edric nodded before he started on the other hand. `I am glad that I don't even work properly for the Scape.' `Well I don't either, or Val, but I really have nothing else to do.' `Well at least I don't have that problem.' `You clean dishes continually if you don't have anything to do.' `And what's wrong with that? I find it relaxing.' Vandana narrowed her eyes at him for a little while before looking to the ground as he finished cleaning her hands. `Flying is that for me, plus it's actually fun as well.' Edric put away the cloth and pulled out bandages, he then started to wrap them up. Once he finished, Edric packed everything away before putting the kit away. `Come on, dinner was meant to have been served a while ago.' He said before standing up and handed her down a hand, Vandana looked at it for a while. `Hey, you would be able to stop me right?' She asked, Edric's eyes widened before he thought. `Out of all of us, it would most likely be me.' He said looking away, then he glared down on her. `So don't make me have to.' She smile before taking his hand. `Good to know that you care.' She teased and Edric yanked her upright. `Just get your ass to the dining room.' He said before leaving the room.
