About the Book
Living in a small town, not much can go wrong. Everyone knows everyone else, and everyone is kind to each other. So when a murder strikes the small town of Crest, who can be trusted anymore? May Dee is an average girl in an average small town with not-so-average secrets. She meets a boy who has his own secrets and anger problems to match, and an unlikely friendship occurs. When faced with murders near her home, she has only one option of thinking. Could this boy, Silas Kredible, be the one killing people in his own town, or is her imagination playing a cruel joke on her?
About the Author
Growing up in the San Luis Valley, Jesse Wright had never heard of the town Crestone. Right up the road from her house was a place of untold inspiration for Crest. After writing the book and moving up to Crestone by fate, a lot of changes were made to this, her first book. Jesse now spends her days working for the local grocery store that gave inspiration to May’s job, and even wandering the town for inspiration toward a possible sequel. Jesse enjoys writing and music-filled days when she’s not out enjoying a nice plate of sushi or baking delicious goodies. Jesse’s been through some challenges in her life. While in high school, she had two back surgeries and is now suffering with chronic pain. She has wanted to help people deal with the pain of hiding scars. With the harsh scar on May’s foot, Jesse inserted a bit of herself into her character and hoped to inspire anyone with scars or differences to feel a little better about themselves. “Even if they hide their scars … I’m not telling them to show them off, because I hide mine too. I just want them to shine and push past the scars. It’s not the pain or the wounds. It’s about enjoying life. Appearances and pain should never stop you from finding the pot of gold at the end of any rainbow.”
