Monkey Beans: Monkey Beans Let’s Count to Ten! is a counting book based around the bubbly main character Monkey Beans-Monkey Beans, who is a caring little monkey. Monkey Beans-Monkey Beans goes on a journey throughout our homes and communities, looking for fun things to practice counting with our children. In our kitchens and our stores and throughout our days, we see lots of fun things for our young readers to notice and begin counting. About the Author
Stephanie D. Smith was born, raised and still resides in West Philadelphia, PA. The mother of 3 children, a 20 year old daughter, a 10 year old son and a 5 year old daughter, this Mom has definitely raised individual children in the ever-changing and difficult times. Yet, one thing that will never change, is every parent’s devotion to their children’s learning of life’s basic foundations. As a young child, Ms. Smith’s interest in writing developed through the encouragement of one of her teachers. She’d written an original poem as a homework assignment, only to arrive to school the following day to see it posted in the hallway. As she approached the three teachers observing the poem, titled, “Once a Snowflake”, her own teacher exclaimed, “There she is, that’s her!”….and from there, Ms. Smith realized that her imagination and love for the English language could become one.
