Sasha was exhausted. Filled with grief, not knowing when he could bring closure to his daughters death, committing himself to supporting his family and friends. The only positive during the week was that Chrissy and himself had convinced Bella to sleep in her own room, rather than with them. He filled a glass with water, slowly drinking, letting the cool waters slake his throat. It was then he heard Bella scream, a long piercing scream that had everyone running for her room. Sash burst through the door to see Bella on her bed, pointing to her I pad. Wrapping his arm around her, Sasha stared at the scree, but it was blank apart from a white triangle indicating video to watch. Taking the tablet from his daughter, he pressed the triangle. Jasmines smiling face filled the screen the Sasha watched as the smile was replaced by a look of terror. He watched Jasmine deflect the initial slashing thrust of a large curved knife, then grasp her arm in pain. Then she straightened due to someone grabbing her from behind as the knife swung back, cutting open her beautiful cheek.

About the Book

With his reputation and business threatened, David Searle undertook his own investigation his way. In doing so, he exposed his own personal history involving death from decades ago. Entwined with this a saga of loves lost and won, a confrontational business alliance, cultural differences, and a will to solve three murders and ensure public safety.
About the Author
Richard Reed was born into a middle class family, being the youngest of four siblings. His father was a clerk and his mother a seamstress. Living in the small rural town of Motueka, located at the top of the South Island, New Zealand, he enjoyed a love for the great outdoors, with beaches and rivers close by, and two National Parks within a short drive. Initially doing well at school, he was placed in the top classes. However, his academic interest waned in favour of seeing the world, but he still did well in essay writing and history. At sixteen he joined the Air Force, spending two of his twenty years in Singapore, from where he toured Europe. After his military career, Richard worked in Real Estate, the racing industry and self employment in New Zealand's biggest city of Auckland. Today, he has retreated to the town of Matamata, home of "The Hobbit" film set. Hence his revived interest in writing novels.
