Can We Reach Nirvana?

He’s surrounded by sickly purplish-black, swirling clouds…or at least a substance that was similar clouds. Or maybe it was better to say slime? He isn’t sure. He is staring straight ahead into the churning void. He felt he was expecting something but isn’t sure what. And he can’t move – not forward or back nor left or right. Not even the appendages on his body would make a motion, not a twitch. He tries to wiggle his fingers, but it is like trying to push against stone. They refuse to listen to his brain, so he stops. The only part of him he’s still able to control are his eyeballs. He swivels them around the large space and there’s a part of him that is relieved he hasn’t encountered any crows yet. But something finally coming out of the mist in front of him caught his attention out his peripheral vision when he’d been attempting to strain his eyes as far right as they could possibly go. It is just a shadow at the moment, walking towards him with jerky steps and what sounds like clicking accompanying it. He squints as if that would help him make out who is advancing on him, but naturally his lashes just make everything blurry, and he widens them again and can only wait to see his oncoming company. The shadow slowly enters his circle of light and the fear cascades like a wave on top of him as it is revealed. A skeleton is soon glaring him down quite literally – its eye sockets, which were supposed to be empty black holes as was tradition, had their own gigantic eyeballs. They show demonically at him with an unnatural, green obsession. Its lipless grin leered at him as if it knew he wouldn’t go anywhere because he just couldn’t. He felt his Adam’s Apple bob up and down in his throat as his fear built upon itself. The clicking gets louder as the skeleton approaches. It is caused by its yellowed bones unevenly rubbing together. As it inches closer, it’s arms begin to raise out straight towards him…And he couldn’t do a thing about it as the cold, clammy, and bony touch caresses his cheeks. His own eyeballs are shaking in his head so much he’s surprised they don’t shimmy right out. In desperation, he mentally calls for his wolf, but it is sluggish in responding.  The skeleton was right in his personal space now, it’s painfully wide smile the only thing filling up his vision. And it is still coming nearer as everything soon goes dark.
