About the Book

Earl Eason Jr. has always loved the Lord. In 2005, he followed a deacon down country roads to St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Hugo, Oklahoma, where he would eventually learn that the congregation wanted him to preach and help them build a new church. From that point on, Eason had a purpose—and he was devoted to fulfilling it.

In a recounting of his experiences, Eason chronicles how he was installed as the pastor a short time later, prepared for a big journey ahead by learning how to construct a house from the ground up, and then began faithfully leading the congregation into a new beginning. As he opened his heart to guidance from the Lord, Eason details how he worked within a small budget to build the church foundation with his bare hands, slowly recruiting helpers as needed. Throughout his retelling of how the church was ultimately erected, Eason reminds believers that all things are possible when trusting the Lord and leading with strength, grace, and above all, faith.

The Chosen One shares the true story of a pastor’s journey as he leaned on his faith in God to build a beloved baptist church in a small Oklahoma town.

About the Author

Earl Eason Jr. was born and raised in a small town as the fifth of fifteen children. He has learned many lessons while on his life journey and enjoys preaching the gospel of Christ. To date, he has built two churches. The Chosen One is his first book.
