About the Book
A National Monument is one of the several designations used in Government Legislation to identify a type of parksite.
National Monuments are located all over the country. They preserve and interpret for the public a wide variety of historic sites and natural features. At the time this book is written, there are 139 National Monuments administered by several government agencies including the National Park Service.
I have visited all these National Monuments and have been presenting a course on this subject. The course consists of photographs and basic information on each parksite as well as comments based on my experiences while visiting the sites. This book is a somewhat expanded version of the presentation materials used during the course.
