About the Book

As a young woman in my twenties with children to whom I wanted to leave something of myself, I determined that one of the most meaningful legacies I could give them was an honest perspective of my life as I saw it. In keeping with this policy, every ten years, I took an honest, no holds barred review of my life as I saw it within the time frame of that period in time.
My logic was that I could never recapture fully the past once it was in the past and, therefore, I determined that the truth would be most evident in the present tense of the time.
I hesitated to share such deeply personal  glimpses of my life with anyone but my children. However, in the larger sense, I reasoned that my story was a story of life itself. It is a story about the family of man. If one other person can see something of themselves in some part of my story and gain hope from it, I will be well satisfied and fulfilled.

Now, through my life experiences and personal and professional growth, I am aware that my story may well be the story of anyone who has struggled to overcome adversity and experienced the joy of self discovery. Things are not always what they appear to be. Within every seeming failure is the kernel of truth, of hope and victory.

Life itself is truly about the journey.
