About the Book

Angela O’Leary, a former guest relations officer and high-class call girl in Manila, falls in love with a Jersey City policeman, who is slain in a street melee. This book follows the twists and turns of Angela’s life up to and including her budding romance with Phil Mejia, a complex character more than twenty-five years her senior. It also follows the lives of others with equally complicated lives and psyches, people who are in some way connected to the slain policeman and the ensuing trial of the two brothers accused of murdering the policeman. As well as the life of a Muslim spy known as Wine Taster.

About the Author

Jules Lombard spent many years negotiating the maze-like corridors of corporate offi ces in the US before fi nding his bearings in the insurance industry. This book is his fi rst novel. He has published a book of essays, Out of the Misty Sea We Must, under his real name. It is currently in print and available at amazon.com. In his younger days he was a published short-story writer. He believes that romantic novels about people who are fi fty-fi ve and over are a neglected genre, and that is the genre he is trying to develop. He envisions this book as the fi rst of a trilogy featuring the characters in this novel. A long-time New Yorker, the author now lives with his family in the West Coast.
