Grandma Perkidoo loved animals, so she decided to stop by the pet store on the corner. While looking at all the animals, she noticed a little box sitting on the counter. The box held a special breed of duck called an Indian Runner. But the sweet little duckling appeared to be very sick!
She took him home to try to make him well, again. She then fed the duck with her hands, putting tiny pieces of cracked corn into his beak...
The next morning, Grandmother Perkidoo awoke to the sound of a “quack, quack, quack” coming from the kitchen. She quickly got up to check on her little duck.
“Well look at you! You’re getting better already!” She said,
surprised.
He raised his head up and said “quack, quack”.
Day after day, she fed him and gave him water. After only two weeks, he was getting better and better!

Grandma Perkidoo rescues a sick little duck and takes him home. She nurses him back to health by keeping him warm, feeding him and giving him water. Soon, the little duck starts to get better!
Sidney the duck starts to think that Grandma Perkidoo is his mommy. He even lives in the house with her and tries to help her with the chores!

Martha Simmons resides in North Georgia. She is a wife, mother and grandmother who loves to work in her garden, paint, play piano and write stories! She often paints pictures of animals and nature scenes. She has always enjoyed reading, and often reads stories to delight her grandchildren.
