About the Book

For many years Gaye Hemsley has worked with children and adults as a dance teacher. She believes dancing and writing are a happy marriage both requiring a creative mind. She has published several picture books. For her seventh birthday she published a book of poems of her life experiences. A lot of her ideas come in the middle of the night so she keeps a pen and paper handy to jot thoughts down. Out walking is also inspiriting; a poem will come to her so she sends it to herself via mobile phone. Gaye is affectionately known to the children in her life as “Nana Gaye”™ Surrounded by enchanting scenery in the Bay of Plenty in the North Island of New Zealand certainly gives her motivation to continue writing.
