The Little Possum Who Said No!

About the Book

This book is an idea that I have had floating around in my head for a while now. ‘Little Possum’ is loosely based on my daughter Ffion, who has quite a strong opinion of what she likes & what she dislikes which I find absolutely hilarious, so I started calling her ‘Possum’ because they also make quite a lot of noise when they dislike something. In the story ‘Little Possum’ is being asked by her mother if she wants to join in with the family’s fun & treats but being the grumpy kind of possum voices her opinions loudly all the while enjoying them in her own unique way. The story ends with ‘Little Possum’ being asked if she would like a cuddle with her mother…a resounding ‘YES’ shows that even though ‘Little Possum’ said ‘NO’ to so many other things she will always say ‘YES’ to a cuddle with her Mumma. The words in this story are simple & repeat themselves so that parents can share this book with their very young children, also a young child could engage with the story by reading out the ‘NO’ and finally the ‘YES’. Parents can also share it with an older child who could learn to read it to a parent, grandparent or younger sibling.

About the Author

I am a mother to three very cheeky yet cute children who I affectionately call “My Little Possums” Lillii Olive, Ffion Ettii & George Penry are a constant source of inspiration for me & their antics are always hilarious. I love to write stories and hope to publish more in the future.
