ROSE - Postcards and Thoughts From a Beautiful Pig

ROSE, the beautiful pig begins her story about how; she has so much courage in everything she does, taking risks and chances. Her instincts and imagination flow continually throughout her mind, leaving her almost exhausted sometimes but, on most occasions fires her up with positive exhilaration. ROSE believes that she is not ugly as people have often said, and her behaviour is only in defence of cruel remarks and all the put—me—downs, but, she has a lot of stamina to cope with the hurt and is always ready to pick herself up and start again. In the past, she has suffered numerous disappointments for a little pig; after all, she is only 3 years old and, has already shifted housing several times during that period of time. Nevertheless, she is also quite gifted in her own humorous way. She sees the lighter side of her existence, plus she is very playful and embraces all of her own pig pal friends. Quite often, she can get up to lots of mischief and, it worries the farm owners because, she can go missing outside her pen and travel to unknown escapes throughout the farm. She is likely to get lost, but she is a very determined little pig and so, eventually finds her way back to her housing on the farm—can you believe that—all tucked up and ready for bed as if nothing has happened only that she feels so tired after a long journey. Discoveries and adventures is what she most enjoys, and likes to explore all the surroundings, especially who she is sharing the farm with such as, horses, sheep, and cows. She finds their characters overwhelmingly funny and fascinating. Her future dream is to have as many pig pal friends as possible to play with and exchange her own imagination with the other characters. In the past, it was so lonely for her—no one to talk to or even look at, only the basic and plain pen for her housing. However she did meet some other pigs but, they seemed to be a bit aggressive and bullying her at times of sensitive moments during the day. Luckily, she was not at this farm very long but, long enough to leave a scar, and to be a bit vigilant in making friends with other pigs. It’s a real shame to have had this involvement because; it makes you tremendously super sensitive to reactions of hurt and abusive cruelty behavior. ROSE, remembers that her feed only consisted of the bare minimum such as, grain—not even scraps, and very little water. She had straw to lie on during the night but sometimes, it was so cold she did not sleep because of the most uncomfortable, painful conditions. When she was transported to the second farm owners pen, it took her by surprise because, the atmosphere was so calming and settling she almost misbelieved her luck. She was able to see through the open pen and, be able to mix with the other pigs and, of course her longing to have companionship with other pig pal friends was on top of her list. The new pen had a beautiful layer of clean straw and tiny little troughs for her drinking water and she also had plenty of blankets—‘how good is that she thought’—she was able to cuddle up and feel secure and happy for the first time ever since she could remember.
