About the Book

This book reflects over fifty years of experience. Each has its own story, expressed by very different characters, some likeable and others a test of one's love for all humanity. Yet within them all there is a consistency of values (often expressed indirectly, or by their absence) and a 'spiritual' sense of the sacredness of life, the primacy of compassion and the overarching reality of interconnectedness. Dennis Oliver's poems and songs reflect their author's experiences of love and transcendence, plus an impatience with cruelty, injustice and indifference, providing many uplifting, touching, sometimes funny and sometimes inspirational reads.

About the Author

Dennis Oliver was born in the USA, moved to Canada in his early twenties, then migrated to North East England in the mid nineties. He's now settled in Glasgow. His life has been an ever-changing search for the way of kindness, sadly mixed with selfishness and pain, but also the possibilities of justice and positive relationships. Dennis is the father of three boys (one deceased) and a girl, and the grandfather of four wonderful individuals. His work and volunteer life have been centred in the "voluntary sector", including a variety of religious communities, Christian and Buddhist. In his retirement he has been active in Glasgow's amateur performance scene, and in walking two dogs, and Buddhist prison chaplaincy.
