About the Book
Glenn Rowe, multi millionaire lottery winner, hates to fly. His trip to Hawaii, reinforces that feeling, for in the confines of first class he meets Chance Landry, a truly evil man who proves himself easy to hate. Seated beside Rowe, Landry is discovered dead on arrival, murdered en route.
There are many suspects. Rowe, himself, had exchanged heated words with the victim. The flight attendants had opportunity, though no one could imagine a motive. Millicent Colter, the little old lady across the aisle, might have had a chance, as might the affable former naval officer, Jay Grant.
Taking place over international waters on an American airplane, the case falls under the jurisdiction of a special task force headed by FBI Agent Cain. Rowe’s position next to the dead man makes him the prime suspect, and Mrs. Colter has mentioned the argument he had with Landry. A sketchbook in which Landry was drawing also interests Cain, and that has disappeared.
Rowe unexpectedly discovers the individual who took the sketchbook. Against his better judgement, but intrigued and disgusted with a murder’s concealment, Rowe joins forces with the “thief.” Together they discover a drug dealer’s evil alliance with Landry. Motivated to bring belated justice to a girl murdered by Landry, they seek to bring down the drug ring. Dogged by vicious drug dealers, the FBI, and his own self doubts, Rowe meets adversity and finds an inner strength he had not realized existed. Along the way, he discovers even the gentlest of people can hide deep strength and tragic mysteries.
