About the Book

Politics of Freedom is not entirely the political commentary you would expect from a Christian conservative. Ms. Jefferson describes it as a love story, or rather a story to fall in love with. It is not dry, but is invitingly written throughout. Each chapter draws you irresistibly into the next.

First, she builds a foundation with the history of the search for freedom. From that strong base she takes us forward to today. Prepare to be surprised and challenged page after page. Readers are likely to never again think the same way about politics or Christian politics, regardless of who they are.

She asks us not to be afraid of that possibility, but to be courageous enough to come into the world of this book. And what a world it is. The reason it is so revealing, and thought provoking, is that she has gotten down to, as she calls them, the “nuts and bolts” in a way few people do. Few, because of time constraints. It takes time to think a thing almost to death, and to suspend emotion, assumption, and tradition to find the truest conclusion. It is emotion, assumption, and tradition that forms most opinion in the first place, so cutting a swath through such undergrowth is essential. If you do not have the time or inclination for that kind of deduction, come and glean from someone who has.

This book is for both the political novice, and the politically baptized. It speaks down to no one. The writing is clear but never pedestrian. Even the most startling concepts are delivered palatably and sensibly, in an easy-to-read flow.

Enough said. You are all invited inside.

About the Author

Ms. Jefferson was born and raised in Nevada. As an adult she has also lived in Oregon, Idaho, Texas, and now resides in Utah. She has formally studied accounting, elementary education, court reporting, opera, music theory, and saxophone. But her lifelong private interests in writing, politics, history and religion have combined to bring about Politics of Freedom, the author’s first book. And a very unexpected and unique book it is. From page to page you cannot guess what is coming next. Think you know what a Christian conservative thinks politically? Think again. You are bound to be surprised, and maybe even have an epiphany or two of your own. Like the author did, as she discovered the politics of freedom herself, you may find yourself saying, “Why did I not see this before? It is common sense.”
