True Devotion to Mary

About the Book

Pope John Paul II has said of St. Louis De Montfort's classic treatise, True Devotion to Mary: "The reading of this book was a decisive turning-point in my life.  I say 'turning-point, but in fact it was a long inner journey...This 'perfect devotion' is indispensable to anyone who means to give himself without reserve to Christ and to the work of redemption...It is from Montfort that I have taken my motto: 'Totus tuus' ('I am thine')."

The Second Vatican Council states: "...the practices and exercises of devotion to [Mary] recommended by the Church in the course of the centuries [are to] be treasured..."

It is in light of this that Mondry begins a careful scriptural analysis of St. Louis' work, comparing the saint's message with that of the Bible, and discovers that there is more to be known about True Devotion to Mary than the Church will acknowledge.  The author invites both Catholics and non-Catholics alike to share in the knowledge of what scripture has to say about this devotion, a revelation that is vital to a better understanding of the Christian faith.
