About the Book

The Key and the Citadel Saga is set in the year 2477 in the vast Empire of Earth ruled by a seemly immortal Emperor. Robots, mutants, enhanced beings, genetically constructed beings and aliens populate this universe. The Key and the Citadel are a power source of ultimate power and a pathway to God, Himself. This power has already destroyed one galaxy and the race of haughty beings that thought they could control it. Millions of years later the Key and the Citadel, now separated line in the confines of our own galaxy. In the first installment of the saga The Boren Incidnet is the starting point of the adventure. The serch for this power source is centered on Avan T. Darkwulf and his best friend and enemy Rutger Cagan codenames Eclipse and the Shadowlord. Both friends hear of the legend of the Key and the Citadel as young mercenaries fighting a war on a half-forgotten backwater planet. Cagen is involved in an accident with a genetic mine that destroys his immune system, an accidnet which he blames Darkwulf for. Now burned and mutilated over one hundred percent of his body which is now encased in a containment suit. Cagan vows to find the Key and the Citadel and destroy the galaxy and Darkwulf along with it. The Seven volumes of the Key and the Citadel Saga also revolves around Darkwulf´s teammates who are a part of an elite unit called Team Eagle Force. Team Eagle Force is the Emperor´s personal troubleshooters and as agents of the Empire they investigate crimes against the Empire. Their cheif suspects are the Ulatu a race of Shark-like humanoids, with one goal the total subjugation and destruction of mankind. Second is the Cult a semi-religious sect of Aliens and Humans modeled after the Holy Roman Church. Who´s goal is to dominate the galaxy by jihad if peaceful conversions can´t be made. And last is the Rebellion, dissidents within the Empire of Earth, secretly lead by Imperial Senator Boren. Boren´s main goal is to rule the Empire or what is left of it after the Rebellion´s insurrection. The Key and the Citadel Saga spans five hundred years with the same cast of characters and their descendants. The reason why there is the ssame cast of characters is because of cloning with full mental transference. This process is created by the team´s doctor Mitchell White Arrow, the cloning process will ultimately destroy the bond of trust and friendship within Team Eagle Force and leads Avan Darkwulf on a dark path of destructuon and redemption.

M.C. Spann, Sr. is a part-time novelist and a full time Code Enforcement Officer/ Building Inspector for the City of El Reno. A military veteran of the U.S. Army, M.C. has traveled widely in his military career. M.C. has worked in government and civil agencies and he combines this knowledge with his personal life to bring you wonderful roller coster stories of action and adventure. A native of San Diego, today he lives with his son M.J. in the historical town of El Reno, Ok.
