About the Book

Oscar Kole reflects on a four month period of time earlier in his life.  At that time Oscar, answering to his alias, BoBo Shame, is at the apex of his life.  Everything is progressing smoothly when for some unknown reason, his childhood traumas begin to haunt him.  He transfers back to the past and evaluates his actions based on his present state of mind.  Oscar is searching for closure on his emotional agony.    It is fall of BoBo’s senior year in college.  He has a love interest, and is an accomplished student and athlete.  Yet, he lives with an uneasiness towards his relationship with his father, a man to whom he has little contact.  BoBo has gone as far as to take an assumed name in an attempt to eliminate any connection with his father.  This conflict manifests itself in BoBo’s terse behavior towards other people in his life, his unequaled drive to succeed and a level of paranoia that further creates destructive reactions to normal social stimuli.  He is well aware that he must face his father on his terms, or continue living in his own emotional jail.  It would be his most difficult task to face in his young life.  BoBo’s journey hits many snags along the way, and it is not clear if he will succeed and finally find inner peace.
