About the Book

Davis Carter is an easy-going, take-it-as-it-comes live-aboard sailor,

hanging out in Miami¹s Dinner Key Marina on his wooden sailboat, the "Zen

Mountain".  A good guy who¹s made a really bad mistake.  This mistake

that has put him in possession of something he¹d rather not have,

something that a powerful narcotics smuggling operation will do anything

to get back.

Seventeen-year-old Gary Pietrosanto has made a lot of bad choices in his

life.  Petty theft.  Vandalism.  Attempted rape.  Now he and his punk

friends have gone a little too far and half the men in their coastal

Mississippi hometown are after them with shotguns and baseball bats.

Rather than face the music, Gary and his best friend, Jo-Jo, head out for

the bright lights of Miami.

Here, Gary makes a wrong move, a decisive mistake that will change his

life forever: he stows away on Davis¹ sailboat just as Davis is hauling

in anchors and raising sails to flee the U. S., one step ahead of the

smugglers.  Across the brilliant turquoise waters, amid the countless

sun-bleached islands of the Bahamas, this unwilling duo plays

hide-and-seek with the team of gunmen on their track.  In the face of

storms and shipwreck, hunger and thirst, fickle winds and treacherous

currents, Davis and Gary must evade the killers in a game where one wrong

move can cost them their lives.

About the Author

Tia Lassen was born in 1958 and grew up in the rural South, reading the scientific sailing adventures of anthropologist Thor Heyerdahl. She spent her early twenties living aboard small sailboats and sailing in southern Florida and the Bahamas. She later attended university, where her interest in writing was piqued by a comment from a professor on a French composition assignment: “If you write as well in English as you do in French, you should be a writer.” One Wrong Move is her first novel.
