About the Book

Bobby McFarland, a defunct New York City sculptor, crosses the country in search of pornographic pictures of important political figures. After the death of his wealthy benefactor, Daemon Peck, and the subsequent destruction of his career, Bobby goes on a mission. Just before his death, Daemon revealed the story of how he once had sex with J. Edgar Hoover, and how there are pictures documenting the event, hidden inside a ‘wooden leg’ in the First National Bank of Twin Falls, Idaho. At first, Bobby writes it off as the lunacy of a dying man; a man strapped to his deathbed, his head riddled with dementia. However, under the advisement of his associate, Gomez (an obese Argentinean albino and former heavyweight boxer), Bobby decides to track down the photos, destroy them, and preserve the memory of the late, great Daemon Peck.

About the Author

Charles Rainey has lived a diverse collection of careers and adventures. In his 23 years he has been a film maker, cellist, painter, gambler, hermit, ad man, communist, Catholic, guru, thinker, student, migrant, addict, lover and, most recently, a writer. In his early film work, he often displayed an easy virtuosity and a thorough command of eclectic symbolism. His cello playing has been noted for its sonorous surface and melancholy depths, while his drug-addled watercolors were frequently described as energetic and original. Mr. Rainey brings all of these qualities, along with a strange wealth of experience and a ghastly cast of characters, to this, his first novel. Mr. Rainey has attended the prestigious School of Visual Arts in New York City, and the University of California at Berkley. His friends call him Chaz.
