About the Book

In a prison colony set in the near future, Agent Brent Benson finds himself half dead and not knowing much more than his name. He is found by Mary Ann Bowers and taken to her home where he is nursed back to health. Attempts to recall his past are futile as he strives to understand his situation and the people around him. Randy Bowers, Mary Ann´s father, confides a secret to Brent that changes not only his life, but that could affect the entire colony. Where Brent´s allegiance lies is a dilemma that he must resolve as his memory slowly returns. Adding to his confusion, Brent must deal with his feelings for Mary Ann, his brother, Zack, who is not sure what side to take in the ensuing conflict and Landyk Menick, who has orders to eliminate him. As he tries to come to terms with who he is and what he should do, he must cope with a mysterious, recurring pain that periodically overwhelms him.

About the Author

With the conclusion of Colony, Ray has fulfilled his desire to create a work of fiction that started out as a hobby. The one question I had to ask him was “Why?” Why write a novel and not expect anything in return? To which he replied, “I won’t say it was a work of love, although it may have been, but to develop my own characters was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up.” Ray’s youth was spent in the armed forces as a medic serving in several countries. Since leaving the military, he has pursued a career in retail management, which he loves. At this stage of his life, Ray writes only in his spare time.
