About the Book

Few authors would endeavor to both entertain and educate. Still fewer would seek to incorporate legitimate cosmological concepts into what is primarily a science fiction novel. In Asteroid we have just such a unique blend of ingredients.

Intended to inspire thought as to the nature and purpose of the universe, it will also have a definite appeal to a wide audience of readers. To those who enjoy a good mystery plot, replete with adventure and suspense, it promises not to disappoint.

Set in the middle of the 21st century, the story focuses upon a newly discovered asteroid body that appears to be on a collision course with Earth in the very immediate future. Plans are quickly formulated to send an expedition to intercept this menace and divert it by means of a powerful hydrogen bomb. What transpires is a saga that threatens to change the entire structure of Earth society.

Inherent in the story is a discourse on certain philosophical issues raised by evolution. (Where, for instance, can one draw a line as to when emerging man is capable of spiritual immortality—to the exclusion of other life forms?) Is there some connection between our expanding universe and such viable principles as evolution and cosmic reincarnation? Reality, as the reader may well discover, could turn out to be far stranger than fiction.

About the Author

In previous works by the author—The Eternal Universe and Cosmic Perspective—he introduced ideas which are destined to have a profound impact upon the scientific community. Long fascinated by many wonders of our astronomical universe, the author has devoted his life to a study of cosmology, in an attempt to define man’s role in a truly dynamic and evolving cosmos.
