Given the task of finding and necessarily deceiving an attractive young woman whom his chief intends to surgically transform into a blind human bomb, to be used to assassinate a high level Latin American terrorist leader, Jason Shexnaider, a veteran but jaded intelligence agent, at first accepts the assignment. But then at a critical point his long dormant conscience awakens. The hapless but courageous girl, however, by that time has been prepared for her own secret assignment. And incredibly, against her own better judgement, has fallen in love with Shexnaider! What happens as first the agency is ordered to abandon the mission but then must consider disposing of the girl anyway, as she poses a considerable liability alive, makes exciting work for Shexnaider, who is bent on saving her at all cost.
About the Author
Chamberlain was born in Virginia in 1930. He graduated from U. Va. with a B.A. in History and a secondary teaching certificate in Science. He has taught at both the secondary and the adult vocational school levels. Most of his working time, however, he spent in the oilfields, servicing communications equipment used by the major companies operating in and around the Gulf of Mexico. He has been married twice and is the father of two sons by his first wife who died. He is retired but still volunteers. He lives now in Texas. Chamberlain has traveled extensively in this country, western Canada and Mexico, as well as visiting overseas both the U.K. and the Iberian peninsula. He speaks Spanish fluently.
