About the Book

Jake Placid walks on his newly purchased land and feels as if it has been part of him for eternity.  How can that be when he is only in his mid-forties?  How can he listen to the rocks and learn from the spring?  

Something is wrong yet it feels so right.   Even Jake’s wife, Abigail, feels like he is being taken over by the things on the land .   Is her husband going mad?

These strange events that are happening to Jake, causes in him doubts and frustration and occasionally euphoria.  However to Abigail, who knows nothing of the specifics, except Jake is different, is confused yet supportive of the man she loves.

The struggles Jake must face in finding out the secrets to a good life are well worth the years of weary effects on his head.  But he does not know what he is looking for until his last mentor forces him to realize what he sees is the answer to his involuntary quest for an “attitudinal truth”.

This journey of only a few years that covers 400 million years of history changes Jake Placid in ways that even he does not realize.  These changes in his philosophy, outlook, and a way of observing  all natural things have effects on all of us.  You only need to learn, and listen to the rocks, the earth, the waters and the stars.

Jeffrey Ian was born in The Bronx, New York City and lived there his entire childhood. With a bachelors degree in Engineering and an MBA, he has always taken an analytical approach in his thinking. He realized that being rational alone would not provide all the answers.
