About the Book

May North is expecting her fourth child in the hot humid July weather of 1945, post World War II. The war rationing has left the family with very little to manage on. Now with the hot weather and no rain for several weeks her husband´s crops are ruined. May´s garden is also gone and she worries about the future. May has a secret that she has struggled with for many years. It has left her with depression and an unworthy feeling that she has never shared with anyone not even her husband of thirteen years. Her Faith in God has kept her going but a letter she receives may make her face the past and the secret will be found out.
