About the Author

Susanne Kurz is employed as a professional translator/interpreter in the international department of one of Germany’s major trade unions. She is proficient in English, French, Portugese, Spanish and Swedish as well as in German, her native tongue. She has been writing poetry and short stories for many years, although The Sportswriter Loses Control is her first novel and her first publication. Ms. Kurz lives in Frankfurt, Germany, and in Ibiza, Spain. Lawrence S. Ritter is widely known as the author of the classic The Glory of Their Times, called “one of the best baseball books ever published” by The Sporting News and voted their “all-time favorite baseball book” by readers of The Sports Collectors Digest. He is also the author of The Babe: The Game That Ruth Built; Lost Ballparks; and East Side, West Side: Tales of New York Sporting Life. In addition, he is Professor Emeritus at New York University, where he taught economics and finance. Mr. Ritter lives in New York City.
