About the Book

Journey to the West-Lying World, a place of unchanging seasons, angel-blessed heroes, and Saint Michael’s Sword.  In this first part of a new and ever-growing tale of fantastic adventure, learn of how darkness fell upon all the world and of how an old man vowed to stand up against it.  Meet Milihpen, the enemy. Once a great Alchemist, exiled from his home centuries ago, Milihpen was never known to have died.  He lives still, beneath the mountains, and his power, skill, and anger have all three grown.  His plans for the world that hated him are dark indeed.  Meet E'Groeg, your narrator. A faithful servant of the Archangel for fifty-three years of his life, his knowledge of the Alchemist Milihpen's intentions will sadly be gained too late.  He will do all in his power to stop him, but it might be not enough.  Meet Adelaidae. Placed under a curse by one of Milihpen's slaves, the man who she thought she loved, Adelaidae will be rescued by a questing E'Groeg.  With him will she travel, joining him in his quest, after she comes to realize that all of her life, from before the curse is gone.    And meet Varrill Stunemade. A young dwarf, Varrill will become the first of the Order of the Men of Michael not to be a man.  Rescued from the slaves of Milihpen by E'Groeg and three gryphons, he accompanies E'Groeg and Adelaidae through their final part of the quest.  Young and eager, his career will be long and should accomplish much good.

About the Author

Matthew Allen Newland, a writer since elementary school, has at last successfully brought into reality the first chapter of one of the longest lingering visions of his imagination, contained within the pages of his first book. Newland resides for the moment in Valentine, Nebraska.
