About the Book
On a Clearer Day
Words written. And I´ll give them all to you—
Thoughts hidden. Each letter I treasure—
Letters that I´ve put away. To do with what you will do,
Words I´ve chosen not to say. For I´ll be feeling better.
Yet this does not mean
My thoughts are but a dream
Nor that I do not feel them.
But rather,
I conceal them.
Maybe on some sunny day—
These letters I have put away—
I´ll bring them out—
On a clearer day of lesser doubt.
On a clearer day without so many
Clouds
Hung in the sky.
On a day without so much
Hurt
To deny.
About the Author
“Into an environment of passion, rage, drama, hellfire and brimstone I was born. Into a world of words that fascinated me, serenaded me, and dictated to me how I must live and how much of myself I must give, I arrived.” Robyn’s own words describe her arrival into this world. Robyn Linda Wallace was born in Wadesboro, North Carolina, on February 18, 1965. From her early childhood, Robyn embraced literature and writing, ultimately compiling an impressive volume of poetry. The contents of this book contain the vast majority of her poetry, spanning most of Robyn’s adult life during the 1980s and 1990s. Also included are two short stories written during her brief tenure at Salem College. She often talked of publishing her poems and even purchased books regarding the process of publishing poetry. But her brief life was unexpectedly cut short…on October 17, 2000, Robyn died in an automobile accident. She is survived by her husband, Scott Kilpatrick.
