About the Book

Rencounter is an action/espionage novel dealing with the techniques employed by other powers in their constant quest for technology.  It is a fast?paced, action?filled story involving the Soviet (KGB and GRU), Chinese (MSS) and U.S. intelligence organizations (CIA).  The U.S. developed a technological wonder that makes aircraft impossible to detect with radar, infrared or sonic systems.  This capability will give its master the most overwhelming military advantage ever.  But the Russians steal it and lose it to the Chinese before even getting it out of California.  To what extent will the super-powers go to protect or steal such a prize?  Will the rules change?  Will there even be any rules?  The three?way battle takes place in California, on a JAL 747, aboard a cruise ship, in Hawaii, in Hong Kong, in Macau and finally in Southern China.

The happenings in California will make you wonder if the neighbor, co?worker or friend, you think you know, are really who and what they appear to be.  Several interesting and entertaining characters are introduced among the cruise ship passengers.  Adam Hunt, the CIA’s answer to James Bond, is an experienced operative who is responsible for recovering the stolen data.  He gets caught between the brute force tactics of the Russians and the mind games of the Chinese, but relies on experience, several clever weapons and luck to stay alive and defeat the foes.

About the Author

After getting kicked out several colleges, I found a home in the military. I learned of a weird outfit flying very secretive missions in strange-looking aircraft – it was a perfect match. For the next 22 years I was involved in what was commonly referred to as “Spy Flights”. I was assigned to the well known ‘spy planes’, such as the RB-47, U-2, SR-71 and RC-135, plus many one-of-a-kind and still unknown aircraft. I became known as ‘the authority’ on enemy capabilities and the methods of extracting intelligence on them. I spent an entire career working underground or in buildings that had no windows. Wherever my group went, we were isolated from all others and were referred to as ‘Brand X’. After military retirement, I remained in the intelligence business as a civilian. Now that the veil of secrecy is being lifted, I have begun writing about some of my experiences.
