About the Book
World leaders, trees, victims, heroes, friends, family, even insects have leads in this first collection from Washingtonian poet Jeanne P. Donovan. Through them, Donovan explores her world and the places she occupies in it, many of which may seem strangely familiar to the reader. Donovan’s poetry relies most heavily on honesty; the ability to learn from and laugh at herself; and the vivid connection she feels with the world around her, not the least part of which is her audience.
About the Author
Jeanne P. Donovan, a native Washingtonian, currently lives in Arlington, Virginia with Philip, Wocket, and Spartacus, the latter two being their cats. While a writer all her life, teaching English remains Ms. Donovan’s most powerful catalyst for her own writing, as she believes great poetry results from teaching such.
