About the Book
Selected, Collected, But Never Perfected ranges across the spectrum of Mary Anfinsen’s poetry—and, by extension, across the spectrum of poetry itself. Anfinsen’s early work, pithy and humorous, was succeeded by the almost essayistic poems of A Little Thinking, the daring gender-reversals of Tiresias Pieces and, finally, by The Thread of the Screw, which dissected the dissolution of her marriage in piercing, sometimes furious verse. This volume collects, for the first time, the work of one of America’s most prolific and versatile young poets.
